I was able to meet with the Spitale brothers last month to discuss their new venture and what it meant to them. The milkshake on it’s own, sans french fries, was dense & and smooth, and more importantly didn’t clog my godforsaken straw. I was never one to dip my Wendy’s fries in the frosty but this time I took the opportunity to do it at Atomic. As I’ve stated before, Barq’s is my drink of choice when eating a burger a fries, but the milkshake I had instead flew me to the moon. With the dozen times I’ve visited Atomic Burger, I’ve just recently had one of their Atomic nitrogen frozen milkshakes. I need that salt during the experience almost as much as the Barq’s. Honestly there’s nothing worse than a bland burger and pile of fries. The fries are well sized and well salted which is always a plus. The meat is well seasoned and has a salty crust that’s very rarely achieved in burgers. The cheese is american (which is the only cheese I’ll eat on a burger), and the rest of the toppings, minus the tomato, we’re a perfect mix. I ordered at the counter and within several minutes my super fresh order was ready. ![]() Typically I’ll order a traditional cheeseburger with fries, but Atomic also offers bacon cheeseburgers, turkey burgers for the healthy set, as well as a portobello mushroom sandwich that could give any vegetarian cause for pause.Īs for the burgers, which is why I pine for Atomic, they are like nothing else I’ve had this side of In-N-Out. After we left and all the way to Pocatello the whole area is treeless with these strange black and white rocks-kinda creepy.Veterans Memorial Blvd. I asked one of the gals at the register a question and it seemed she really didn't want to be there. Other things we noticed: 50 cent charge for all credit card transactions, only 1 refill of tea/soda allowed, FLIES! ugh flies! One customer, must be a regular, brought his own flyswatter! Plastic lawn chairs at the tables, there is a counter with diner chairs but its small. ![]() My shredded lettuce was wilty too, tomato&onion ok - asked for no pickle (at Pickles, ha ha ha!)and got a big pickle. Got my buffalo burger back and it was cooked thru and thru this time. ![]() Joy was apologetic - again, all of the problems do not stem from her - she's just got a job in a less than ideal cafe. ![]() It was great - best part of the whole meal! Tasted like homemade noodles!After the 1st bite of my buffalo burger I had to send it back - red in middle. He loved his even with his wilted pile of lettuce served ON the plate.(didn't eat that) His came with a side and he chose the homemade chicken noodle soup that he gave to me. Ordered iced tea and buffalo burger for me, open faced roast beef for hubby. She got our table wiped and brought us water - 2 very small plastic glasses and plastic pitcher of ice water. Joy, our server, tried, I could tell she was trying to please us and ALL her customers. It was Sunday Oct 5 abt 3PM.We just got hungry, saw Pickles and thought ok. First tho, we like small town diners too and most times they are ok, with pretty good food. I wrote down so many things I don't know where to begin.
